Back in April Volkswagen debuted the New Midsize Coupe (“New Midsize Coupe”) Concept at the Beijing Motor Show. Now we have some spy photos of what may be the production NMC for the Chinese market.
The NMC is basically a Jetta that has received the “CC treatment,” meaning it is a sedan that has aspirations of looking like a coupe. NMC is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform and will be available with either 1.4 TSI or 2.0 TSI four-cylinders with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
WorldCarFans.com reports that the official unveiling for the new model is planned for the Guangzhou Auto Show in December 2014. When they hit dealers by the first half of 2015, pricing will start at approximately 180,000 yuan (approximately $29,000).
