Audi Confirms Next Gen A4 Is Frankfurt Bound

Audi board member Ulrich Hackenburg has confirmed to Indian Autos Blog the next-generation B9 A4 sedan will make a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The A4’s first in-person appearance will be on the floor of the German show, however Hackenberg also said they’ll “make a pre-presentation” of the car before Frankfurt.

The B9 A4 was previously rumored to make a debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, as spy shots showed the car looking fairly far along in its development. When it’s shown in Germany, it will likely be riding on a version of the Volkswagen Group’s modular MLB Evo architecture and sporting some evolutionary styling cues reminiscent of the current Audi TT.

First introduced in 2008, the current-generation A4 is the oldest model in Audi’s lineup. Were expecting the new model to offer similar features to the latest all-new Audis, such as an optional diesel hybrid drivetrain as seen on the Q7 e-tron and the virtual cockpit display first introduced on the 2015 TT, for example. We’ll have all the official details when it makes its premiere in Frankfurt later this year.
