In the case of The Blue Oval, that number is 3,883,470,682 of common stock and 70,852,076 of Ford Class B stock. These figures are as of April 30th, 2014, and will likely remain about the same given Ford’s recent stock-related developments.

Multiply the 3.8 billion figure of outstanding common stock by Ford’s (roughly) $15 per share stock price, and you get the automaker’s market capitalization figure — or the amount the company is worth on the open market.
