One of the most exciting and anticipated events of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Spa, is right around the corner. However after Spa comes not just the headline event for the WEC, but one of the headliner for the entire motorsports community, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This year, the day-long endurance race at Le Mans will be held on June 13 and 14, making it less than two months away. It’s no secret that Audi takes Le Mans very seriously, having won the race 13 times, so it’s not all that surprising that the team was recently caught testing out the R18 e-tron quattro’s new low-downforce aero kit for the race.
Audi chose Monza to test their new aero kit out, and better yet, they removed the Rettifilo Chicane designed to slow cars down before taking Curva Grande. YouTube user 19Bozzy92 was on hand to catch the R18 on video as it blasted down the straight and took one of the fastest turns in motorsport at high speed, leaving us and Fox Sports wondering if LMP1 is truly the pinnacle of motorsports and not F1.
