2015 Ford F-150 Named New England’s Official Winter Vehicle

It’s May, and while many parts of the country have been rid of their winter weather for some time, in other parts, frigid temperatures have only just receded.

As we look around and start the process of rebuilding, taking stock of the numerous house pets and digits we’ve lost to the frost, we’d like to acknowledge a true hero who helped many folks in New England to push back the snow: the 2015 Ford F-150.

The New England Motor Press Association has named the 2015 Ford F-150 the “Official Winter Vehicle of New England,” thanks not only to all the available winter-specific options, but also to its all-weather driving competence and safety. The automaker boasts that the 2015 Ford F-150 is the only light duty pickup with an available snowplow prep kit for every body style.

Despite a growing mountain of awards since the truck’s introduction, this marks the first time that the F-150 has ever earned the “Official Winter Vehicle of New England” title from the NEMPA. NEMPA president Craig Fitzgerald remarked: “For years, the F-150 proved itself as a solid workhorse for New Englanders. But the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 puts it in another class completely.

“With outstanding fuel economy, a world-class interior and EcoBoost V6 engine, you’ve got a combination that beat the worst storms during the worst winter in New England’s recorded history.”
