Livernois Now Shipping Windstorm Intake For 2015 Mustang

Livernois Motorsports has started shipping its Windstorm Intake System for the 2015 Ford Mustang. It’s available for the 2.3-liter turbocharged Mustang EcoBoost and the 5.0-liter V8-powered Mustang GT.

Mustang EcoBoost Windstorm Intake

By itself, the intake delivers a net gain of over 9 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque. It was designed to be used with the MyCalibrator tuner to squeeze out an additional 56 horsepower and 87 pound-feet of torque, for a total system gain of 65 horses and 98 pound-feet of twist. Those are impressive gains for such small changes, especially for the engine size. The price? $354.99 for the intake.

Mustang GT Windostorm Intake

Priced at $359.99, the Windstorm intake is $5 more expensive for the Mustang GT. Also designed to be used in conjunction with the MyCalibrator tuner, the intake alone nets peak gains of over 11 horses and 10 pound-feet of torque. These gains are in addition to the 22 ponies and 38 pound-feet of torque achieved by the MyCalibrator tuner, for a total gain of 33 horsepower and 48 pound-feet of torque.

Some Observations

  • It’s unusual to see an intake modification to an eight-cylinder yield similar gains as an aftermarket intake for a four- or six-banger, so it’s nice to see the Mustang GT getting a decent bump in both power and twist.
  • After the upgrades for Linvernois, the Mustang Ecoboost only has 30 pound-feet of torque less than a stock Mustang GT. Interesting.
