Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Design Teased

It may surprise you to learn that among the long list of automakers drafting up virtual concept cars for the “Vision Gran Turismo” project is Bugatti Automobiles. After all, given the marque’s unquestionable supremacy in the areas of exclusivity, desirability, and performance, one might well assume that drafting a car for a video game is somewhat beneath Bugatti.

Nonetheless, Bugatti has designed a Vision Gran Turismo concept, and a preview image of some part of the car can be seen above. Without context, we can’t be entirely certain what it is we’re looking at, but speculation from across the internet suggests that it may be an engine cover, or perhaps a smaller, singular air vent.

We’ll know soon enough; Bugatti will debut their new Vision Gran Turismo concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, which runs from the 17th to the 27th of September. The virtual concept had essentially two primary goals: to create a concept which could actually conceivably see the light of day in the mid-term future, and to hint at the future of Bugatti’s design language as the performance marque enters the “post-Veyron” era.

“Bugatti is the world’s most exclusive super sports car brand and Bugatti cars are only available to an extremely small group of automobile connoisseurs,” remarked Bugatti Automobiles Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer. “At the same time Bugatti is admired and loved by countless people throughout the world. We highly appreciate this enthusiasm. The ‘Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo’ will make our brand available to them as well as to gamers and high-performance aficionados throughout the world, only very few of whom will be able to afford a real Bugatti.

“They can all benefit from the success of our brand. This is a project for our fans.”
