Ford U.S. Sales Up 1.2 Percent To 217,321 Vehicles In June 2015

U.S. Ford dealers delivered 217,321 new Ford vehicles in June 2015, a 1.2 percent increase compared to June 2014.

“Strong retail momentum continues building for our newest vehicles – including F-150, Mustang, Edge, and now Explorer,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “The Ford brand’s average transaction prices have increased $2,700 versus a year ago – more than triple the industry average – while our incentives are down, showing how much customers value our investment in new vehicles with the latest technologies.”

June highlights (vs. June 2014, except as noted):

  • Fiesta up 23.6 percent to 7,971 units
  • Mustang up 53.6 percent to 11,719 units, its best June performance since 2007. Mustang sales were particularly strong in America’s largest sports car region, Southern California, where retail sales grew 157 percent in June.
  • Ford brand SUV sales grew 10 percent to 64,885 units — the best June sales performance since 2002:
    • All-new Edge up 29.8 percent to 12,587 units
    • Explorer up 30.2 percent to 20,377 units
    • Police Interceptor Utility up 32 percent to 2,172 units
    • Expedition up 32 percent to 4,092 units
    • F-Series sales were down 8.9 percent to 55,171 units, but the trucks had record average transaction prices, moving above $44,000 per truck, or $3,600 higher than last year. In addition, the all-new F-150 turns twice as fast on dealer lots than industry’s half-ton pickup segment.
  • Transit up 2,376 percent to 12,134 units
  • Heavy Trucks up 44.6 percent to 966 units
  • All other Ford brand models posted year-over-year sales drops
