The Motrolix Take

The term EcoBeast is clearly a play on the automaker’s EcoBoost brand of engines. In fact, some Ford enthusiasts — especially owners of the F-150 pickup with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 — have been known to nickname their trucks EcoBeast. The EcoBoost line of motors, meanwhile, have become the engines to beat in the mainstream automotive space all over the world thanks to their healthy dose of fuel efficiency and power.

In that context, we would venture to theorize that the EcoBeast trademark likely foreshadows one of the following three things:

  1. A high-performance (“beastly”) version of the EcoBoost engine range
  2. Something related to Ford’s OEM-supported tuning efforts of EcoBoost engines
  3. The name of a high-performance Ford concept

… or maybe it’s something else entirely. Stay tuned as we learn more about what The Blue Oval has in store for EcoBeast.
